Beyond the Highlight Reel: The Development Questions Hanging Over Sellers and Lagway

I’ve been watching LaNorris Sellers and DJ Lagway closely, and I have to be honest: it’s hard for me to get truly excited about their NFL upside. On tape, they immediately stand out. Both are dynamic athletes who can extend plays with their legs, throw off platform, and make explosive moments out of nothing. They’re the type of players who make you imagine highlight reel throws and game changing plays at the next level.

But here’s the problem: I haven’t seen the kind of development I would need to feel confident projecting them as NFL starters. Mechanics are inconsistent, decision-making is still shaky, and timing and anticipation haven’t improved much from when they first arrived on campus. It’s not that they can’t make plays (they absolutely can) but I need to see consistent execution if I’m going to trust them to run an NFL offense.
