Is The 2026 Class the Best WR Class in Years? My Full Top 50 Breakdown
After breaking down QBs and RBs, it’s time for my favorite group – wide receivers. This class is loaded with vertical threats, route technicians, and versatile playmakers. Below is my full breakdown of the top two tiers, sharing what stands out in their game, why I comp them to current or former NFL players, and quick outlooks on their fit at the next level.
🔴 Elite Tier
1. Chris Henry Jr. (Ohio State)
📈 Comp: AJ Green
When I watch Chris Henry Jr., the first thing that jumps out is his combination of size, length, and body control. He’s fluid for a bigger WR and wins effortlessly at the catch point, similar to how AJ Green dominated with his frame and natural ball skills. Ohio State will use him as a vertical X receiver early, and he has true WR1 NFL upside.
2. Tristen Keys (LSU)
📈 Comp: CeeDee Lamb (Lite)
Keys plays with smooth agility, sudden burst after the catch, and excellent tracking on vertical routes. He isn’t quite as powerful as CeeDee but his blend of fluidity, route pacing, and YAC ability reminds me of a slightly lighter version of Lamb coming out of Oklahoma. At LSU, he should thrive in their quick-game and vertical concepts.
3. Vance Spafford (Miami)
📈 Comp: Keenan Allen
Spafford isn’t the fastest WR, but his technical route running, footwork at the break point, and reliable hands scream Keenan Allen to me. He creates separation with craftiness and understands how to attack leverage just like Allen does. Miami’s offense will maximize his reliability on 3rd downs and intermediate routes.
